Splendeur de Dieu, de Dieu parfaite image !
Fils éternel, des anges adoré !
Gloire à ton nom, ô toi qui, sans partage,
Seras par tous à jamais honoré !

Tu vins du ciel t’offrir en sacrifice,
Et par toi seul Dieu fut glorifié :
Sa sainteté, son amour, sa justice,
Ta croix, Jésus, a tout magnifié.

Et maintenant, exalté par Dieu même,
Dans les hauts lieux, près de la Majesté,
Nous te voyons, ceint de gloire suprême,
Toi, Fils de l’homme, Homme ressuscité !

Nous t’adorons, ô toi dont la couronne

Nous te louerons dans l’éternel accord.

herrlich erweist es uns Dein Opfertod.

dort in der Höh’ auf Deines Vaters Thron —
so schaun wir Dich, den alle Himmel loben,
Jesu, Du auferstandner Menschensohn!

Wir sehen Dich; und Deine Siegerkrone
lenkt unser Herz zu Deinem Weh zurück.
Bald, teurer Herr, rühmt dafür vor dem Throne
Dich der Erlösten Schar im ewgen Glück.

in the heavenlies, near the Majesty,

Thee, Son of Man, resurrected Man!

We adore Thee, whose crown
reminds the heart of Thy suffering and death!
Lord Jesus! soon around Thy throne,
