Quel autre ai-je aux cieux,
Quel autre en ces lieux,
Que toi, mon Sauveur,
Mon Berger, mon Guide, l’Ami de mon cœur ?

Quel autre voudrait,
Quel autre pourrait,
Me voyant gémir,
Me tirer d’angoisse et me secourir ?

En toi, Dieu Sauveur,
J’ai la paix du cœur ;
Tu fis tout pour moi ;
Et sur ta justice se fonde ma foi.

Pour moi quel bonheur
De savoir, Seigneur,
Comme je le sais,
Que tu m’es propice, que tu fis ma paix !

L’éternel salut
Est le prix, le but,
Vers lequel je cours ;
Seigneur, pour l’atteindre, à toi j’ai recours.

Je vis donc en paix,
Parce que je sais
Que, même en la mort,
Christ est ma retraite, mon appui, mon fort.

und wäre bereit
und mächtig zugleich,
zu tragen, zu helfen, an Tröstung so reich?

O Jesu, nur Du
bist Selbst meine Ruh,
tatst alles für mich;
nun gründet mein Glaube sich einzig auf Dich.

Wie glücklich bin ich:
Du Selbst bist für mich!
Ich glaube und weiß:
Du, Herr, bist mein Friede und liebst mich so heiß.

Du ewiges Heil,
das droben mein Teil,
Dir jage ich nach;
Du ziehst mich und schützt mich in Leiden und Schmach.

Ich gehe befreit
fortan durch die Zeit.
Ich weiß: Selbst im Tod
bist Du meine Zuflucht, Du Halt in der Not!

seeing me suffer, deliver me from anguish and succour me?

In Thee, Saviour God,
I have peace of heart;
Thou hast done all for me;
and upon Thy justice my faith is founded.

For me, what happiness
to know, Lord,
As I know it,
that Thou art favourable to me, that Thou hast made peace for me!
5.
Eternal salvation,
is the prize, the goal,
towards which I run;
Lord, to reach it, to Thee I turn.
6.
I live then in peace,
for I know
that, even in death,
Christ is my shelter, my support, my fortress.
