1.
Herr, nur der Deinen Schar kann Dir Anbetung bringen,
trotz Schwachheit Deine Huld und Zärtlichkeit besingen,
denn Du hast uns erkauft mit Deinem teuren Blut;
Dein Siegen froh erhöhn, anbetend droben weilen,
1.
Lord, it becomes Thy saints, and despite their weakness,
to tell of Thy kindness and exalt Thy tenderness,
Thou hast redeemed us by Thy precious blood,
and we are walking in peace toward the heavenly abode.
2.
Yet a little while, pilgrims on earth,
despised by the world, but children of Thy Father,
we move on in peace until the happy moment
when we shall see Thy face at Thy coming again.
3.
By Thy grace, O Lord, partakers of Thy glory,
in heaven, we shall celebrate Thy victory,
see Thee, worship Thee, object of our faith,
after having suffered and triumphed through Thee.
