Heureuse liberté d’enfants devant leur Père !
Dans ta communion, ô Dieu, tes bien-aimés
Peuvent déjà goûter, dans la pleine lumière,
La douceur des liens que ta grâce a formés.

Entrant dans les lieux saints, admis en ta présence,
Ensemble nous venons t’adorer en ce jour,
T’offrant par Jésus-Christ, dans la reconnaissance,
La louange produite en nous par ton amour.

Ton cœur voulait des fils unis au Fils lui-même :
Tu nous as, tendre Père, à jamais adoptés.
Notre vie est liée à Celui que tu aimes,
À Jésus dans le ciel, l’Homme ressuscité.

Un dans le Bien-aimé, nous te rendons hommage,
Anticipant déjà le jour d’éternité,
Car d’un Christ glorieux nous porterons l’image,
À toujours devant toi dans la félicité.

o Vater, dankbar auf, denn Du hast uns gebracht
zur Freiheit und zum Glück in Deinem vollen Lichte:
Dein Lieben hat das Band auf ewig festgemacht.

Wenn wir im Heiligtum vor Dir zusammenkommen,
so beten wir Dich an, weil Du das gern vernimmst.
Wir sind durch Jesum Christ Dir allezeit willkommen
und bringen Dir das Lob, zu dem Du Selbst uns stimmst.

Ja, Söhne wolltest Du mit Deinem Sohn verbinden;
Du nahmst, o Vater, uns als Deine Kinder an.
Dein Leben durften wir in dem Geliebten finden,
der starb und auferstand, und der uns ging voran.

Vereint in Deinem Sohn, wir Dir nun Ehre bringen
und schauen schon voraus zum Tag der Ewigkeit:
Dann tragen wir Sein Bild, und herrlich wird erklingen
vor Dir das neue Lied in ewger Seligkeit.

In communion with Thee O God, Thy well-beloved
can taste already, in full light,
the sweetness of the bonds wrought by Thy grace.

Entering the holy place, received into Thy presence,
we come together, on this day, to adore Thee,
bringing by Jesus Christ, with gratitude,
the praise produced in us by Thy love.
3.
Thy heart’s desire was to have sons together with Thine own Son;
Tender Father, Thou hast forever adopted us,
our life is bound up in Him, Thy beloved,
to Jesus in heaven, the Risen One.
4.
One in the Beloved, we give Thee homage,
already anticipating the eternal day,
for we will bear the image of a glorious Christ,
forever before Thee in joy.
